Each day of camp will be a new and exciting experience for our campers as no two days with KE Camps are exactly alike! Our days begin with Hello Camp, a morning meeting of sorts where, through an assortment of organized activities, campers and staff get to know each other, review the day’s schedule and sing our special camp song! Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”. The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

Lunch & Snacks
The club will provide a delicious and kid-friendly lunch for every camper each day. If you would prefer to pack your own lunch for your child, please do so in a cooler or backpack. A snack will be served each afternoon to all campers. We encourage you to pack some extra snacks for your child as well.
Please note that we are a “nut aware” camp. We ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts. Likewise, the lunches and snacks served by the club will not contain any nuts. If your child has a food allergy and you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
KE Camps requires all campers to wear our official camp shirt each day of the week. Please leave all electronic devices and cell phones at home. Campers should dress in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Additional shirts may be purchased at camp. Camp is a place to un-plug! Please pack the following items in a labeled bag or backpack:

The health and safety of all campers, families, and staff members continues to be our absolute top priority. As we are all well-aware, protocols and guidelines surrounding Covid-19 are fluid and as such, we will adapt and adjust our policies, as needed, leading up to and during the camp season.
We encourage you to enroll early as spaces will be limited this summer and we expect that camp will fill up quickly! We are sure you agree that a summer spent at camp will be more needed and meaningful than ever this year.

Meet Your Camp Director
Dear Campers and Families,
I am extremely excited and honored to introduce myself as the returning Director for my fourth summer at Camp Old Ranch. I strive for activities and programs that are both engaging and encouraging in efforts to enrich your child’s summer. Besides Old Ranch, I have had previous experience working as an Assistant Program Director at a camp on Catalina Island for five years.
Currently, I work as a high school science and math teacher in Huntington Beach. Working with children has always been a strong passion of mine. I thoroughly enjoy the energy and excitement that children bring to each and every day, and I also love enriching the lives of children through encouragement and positive activities.
I am originally from Maryland, but have lived all over the country as I chase my passion for the outdoors across the map. I received a Marine Biology Degree from University of North Carolina with a minor in Chemistry, and am working towards a Master’s Degree in Education. From working as a naturalist on a whale watching ship in Massachusetts to working as a fisheries biologist on a research ship in Alaska, my love for science and education has helped direct my travels. The joy I found at the camp I worked at in Catalina led me to base myself out of southern California for the past several years. In my free time, I spend the majority of it SCUBA diving, surfing, and sailing, as well as exploring the many beautiful places California has to offer.
I look forward to making Camp Old Ranch the very best it can be for our campers, staff members, and families. This year we will focus on enrichment programs, activities, and team building. I am also excited to bring additional hands-on learning and exploration through the implementation of science demonstrations and experiments. I am eager to work with a staff that has strong leadership skills, so that we can see an even greater positive role-model impact on our staff and camper relationships. In addition, I plan to place a greater emphasis on programming variety and development, so that we provide our campers the opportunity to expand their horizons, and excel at the activities they find most interesting.
