Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”.   The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

Thankful Thursdays

We are excited to announce the return of Thankful Thursdays into our camp program! In true camp spirit, every Thursday campers will have the chance to give back to their community by working together on a simple, fun and rewarding community service project. Check out this summer’s Thankful Thursday Calendar!

Lunch & Snacks

The club will provide a delicious and kid-friendly lunch for every camper each day. If you would prefer to pack your own lunch for your child, please do so in a cooler or backpack. A snack will be served each afternoon to all campers. We encourage you to pack some extra snacks for your child as well.

Please note that we are a “nut aware” camp.   We ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts.   Likewise, the lunches and snacks served by the club will not contain any nuts.   If your child has a food allergy and you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Packing List

KE Camps requires all campers to wear our official camp shirt each day of the week. Please leave all electronic devices and cell phones at home. Campers should dress in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Additional shirts may be purchased at camp. Camp is a place to un-plug! Please pack the following items in a labeled bag or backpack:

Registration & Payments

Registration for Summer 2021 is open and will continue until we are full.  So, you may add additional weeks as the summer goes on. You must be enrolled in advance, however, in order to attend camp. We are happy to accept online registrations up until the night before the start of each week of camp, provided that space is available.

Full payment is due upon registration.  This includes a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $40 which includes 2 camp t-shirts. We accept ACH Payments and American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover.

If your child has special needs or will require extra assistance while at camp, please contact us before you enroll to discuss!

Cancellations & Refunds

All requests for cancellations or changes must be made in writing to our office via email at info@kecamps.com.  Cancellations made by July 18, 2021 will be refunded in full (less the registration fee).   After that, there are no refunds. We will, however, always offer a credit towards a future week (if space is available) or for next summer.

Covid-19 Safety Policy

As we enter into Summer 2021, we are fully prepared to take on the challenging circumstances surrounding Covid-19 - we did it in Summer 2020 and we can do it again! The health and safety of all campers, families, and staff members continues to be our absolute top priority. As we are all well-aware, protocols and guidelines surrounding Covid-19 are fluid and as such, we will adapt and adjust our policies, as needed, leading up to and during the camp season.

We encourage you to enroll early as spaces will be limited this summer and we expect that camp will fill up quickly!  We are sure you agree that a summer spent at camp will be more needed and meaningful than ever this year.

Please find our 2021 Covid-19 Safety Policy here.

Meet Your Camp Director

Hello Campers and Families!

My name is Tracy Burk. I am the assistant librarian and paraeducator at Hereford Middle School. I grew up in Monkton and went to Hereford High School before graduating from the University of Delaware, where I studied Elementary Education and Middle School Math. I went on to be a middle school math and science teacher before having my own children. At that time, I became a preschool director and teacher and worked in early childhood education for 25 years before recently returning to middle school.

My children are now 18 and 21 years old, unbelievably! Since they are primarily on their own, I have a lot of time to explore new things. I love to be outdoors. Hiking and running are my favorite activities. I like to explore new places and hope to spend some of my summer traveling, especially to the beach! Of course, I also like to read and plan on finishing many books this summer.

I have spent numerous summers as a camp counselor. During my college years, I worked at a summer camp; we went swimming, bowling, golfing and had a great summer! I love this type of camp because the children and counselors build relationships and make so many wonderful memories together! As a preschool director and teacher. we also had camps. We strived to make summer camp different to their school year in the preschool. We created fun themes each week for the children that allowed them to express their creativity as well as learn!

Working with children is something I have had a passion for since I first started babysitting as a teenager. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and help students. I love to see them learn new things. I love to see their faces light up when they understand a new concept or make a new discovery!

I am looking forward to discovering new things at camp this summer. It will be fun to walk and explore the grounds of the club, we will have fun craft activities each week, and there will be lots of games and physical activity as well.

I look forward to meeting all of the campers and families at Hayfields!

Tracy Burk
