Club Registration Requirements
If you are not a Club Member of Detroit Yacht Club, you must be “Sponsored” by a Club Member in order to register your child for camp. The Sponsoring Member will not be charged in association with Camp DYC in any way, however, he or she must be aware that you are listing him or her as your Sponsor. This policy allows Detroit Yacht Club to ensure that all Non-Members attending camp are associated with a Club Member in some way.
Age Range: 4 - 10
All campers must be at least 4 years old by the first day they attend camp. In addition, campers must be potty-trained and able to handle a full day program.
Each day of camp will be a new and exciting experience for our campers as no two days with KE Camps are exactly alike! Our days begin with Hello Camp, a morning meeting of sorts where, through an assortment of organized activities, campers and staff get to know each other, review the day’s schedule and sing our special camp song! Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”. The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

Lunch & Snacks
A kid-friendly lunch will be provided by the club daily for all campers. If you would prefer to pack your own lunch for your child, please do so in a cooler or backpack.
A snack will be served each afternoon to all campers. We encourage you to pack some extra snacks for your child as well.
Please note that we are a “nut aware” camp. We ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts. Likewise, the lunches and snacks served by the club will not contain any nuts. If your child has a food allergy and you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
KE Camps requires all campers to wear our official camp shirt each day of the week. Please leave all electronic devices and cell phones at home. Campers should dress in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Additional shirts may be purchased at camp. Camp is a place to un-plug! Please pack the following items in a labeled bag or backpack:
Payments, Cancellations, Refunds
Registration & Payments
Registration for Summer 2021 is open and will continue until we are full. So, you may add additional weeks as the summer goes on. You must be enrolled in advance, however, in order to attend camp. We are happy to accept online registrations up until the night before the start of each week of camp, provided that space is available.
Full payment is due upon registration. This includes a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $40 which includes 2 camp t-shirts. We accept ACH Payments and American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover.
If your child has special needs or will require extra assistance while at camp, please contact us before you enroll to discuss!
Cancellations & Refunds
All requests for cancellations or changes must be made in writing to our office via email at email@example.com. Cancellations made by June 20, 2021 will be refunded in full (less the registration fee). After that, there are no refunds. We will, however, always offer a credit towards a future week (if space is available) or for next summer.
Covid-19 Safety Policy
As we enter into Summer 2021, we are fully prepared to take on the challenging circumstances surrounding Covid-19 - we did it in Summer 2020 and we can do it again! The health and safety of all campers, families, and staff members continues to be our absolute top priority. As we are all well-aware, protocols and guidelines surrounding Covid-19 are fluid and as such, we will adapt and adjust our policies, as needed, leading up to and during the camp season.
We encourage you to enroll early as spaces will be limited this summer and we expect that camp will fill up quickly! We are sure you agree that a summer spent at camp will be more needed and meaningful than ever this year.

Meet Your Camp Director
Hello Campers and Families,
My name is Robin Chambers, and I am the new director of KE Camps at the Detroit Yacht Club. I am so excited for this year’s camping experience! I cannot wait to meet every one of my new campers!
Let me start of by telling you a little about myself. I love the outdoors. When I was a kid, summertime could not have come fast enough so I could go to camp. I remember learning new songs, playing fun games like parachute, making no-bake cookies, and creating art with my friends. In one of my camps in Japan, I even learned how to dance in a kimono. I loved it so much that I became a camp counselor when I got older. I know that summer camp brings great opportunities for children to learn, explore, make friends, and share experiences in a safe environment.
I have a strong passion to provide a positive learning atmosphere for children which is the reason I am an elementary school teacher. I get such a thrill when children learn something new and experience the “Ah ha!” moment. Often, I have former students return and ask that I continue to teach them. I also hold an M.Ed. in Instructional Technology and an MBA in Project Management. At my school, I enjoy being the track coach. Next year, I will be serving as the co-director of production for our Drama Team.
Another passion I have is for photography. My favorite photos to capture are of landscapes and nature. I love spending time with my husband, playing with my two grandchildren, and working in my raised bed garden in the backyard. I also own several pets which consist of a Chow Chow dog name Carmel, a bearded dragon named Champ, and a Red Ear Slider turtle named Peek-a-boo!
I cannot wait to meet and learn more about each one of you! I am so excited to be your director! I am counting the days until the start of our great and fun summer at camp!
