Club Registration Requirements
If you are not a Club Member of The Club at Old Hawthorne, you must be “Sponsored” by a Club Member in order to register your child for camp. The Sponsoring Member will not be charged in association with Camp Old Hawthorne in any way, however, he or she must be aware that you are listing him or her as your Sponsor. This policy allows The Club at Old Hawthorne to ensure that all Non-Members attending camp are associated with a Club Member in some way.
Age Range: 5 - 10
All campers must be at least 5 years old by the first day they attend camp. In addition, campers must be potty-trained and able to handle a full day program.
Each day of camp will be a new and exciting experience for our campers as no two days with KE Camps are exactly alike! Our days begin with Hello Camp, a morning meeting of sorts where, through an assortment of organized activities, campers and staff get to know each other, review the day’s schedule and sing our special camp song! Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”. The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

Lunch & Snacks
You have the option to purchase a kid-friendly lunch provided by the club for $35 per week. If you would like to purchase this option, you may do so during online enrollment. Otherwise, you are welcome to pack a lunch for your child.
A snack will be served each afternoon to all campers. We encourage you to pack some extra snacks for your child as well.
Please note that we are a “nut aware” camp. We ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts. Likewise, the lunches and snacks served by the club will not contain any nuts. If your child has a food allergy and you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
KE Camps requires all campers to wear our official camp shirt each day of the week. Additional shirts may be purchased at camp. Campers should dress in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Camp is a place to un-plug! Please leave all electronic devices and cell phones at home. Please pack the following items in a labeled bag or backpack:

Covid-19 Safety Policy
As we enter into Summer 2021, we are fully prepared to take on the challenging circumstances surrounding Covid-19 - we did it in Summer 2020 and we can do it again! The health and safety of all campers, families, and staff members continues to be our absolute top priority. As we are all well-aware, protocols and guidelines surrounding Covid-19 are fluid and as such, we will adapt and adjust our policies, as needed, leading up to and during the camp season.
We encourage you to enroll early as spaces will be limited this summer and we expect that camp will fill up quickly! We are sure you agree that a summer spent at camp will be more needed and meaningful than ever this year.

Meet Your Camp Director
Hello Campers and Families,
My name is James Stewart, and I am the new camp director at Camp Old Hawthorne at The Club at Old Hawthorne. It is an honor to introduce myself to the campers and families that I will get to have a blast with this summer.
As an elementary teacher, I know that children thrive in a community that is built around them and for them. I have worked with children from ages 4 to 11 over the last 5 years. It brings me joy to know that I will continue providing a safe and fun learning environment for children outside of the school year. I am excited to being working with children this summer. One of my goals for this summer is getting to know my community. I am proud to be the new director this year and to learn something new from local residents. I recently moved here from Ohio with my wife and after settling in, I am ready to learn more.
Before moving to Missouri, I was a fifth-grade teacher. In college, I worked along veteran teachers to provide engaging, effective lessons to preschoolers and kindergarteners. One of my favorite experiences before teaching was leading a preschool camp. There, I learned children can bring the best out of everyone. Working with that camp drove me to be an educator. I want to build lasting relationships between the children, the staff members, and club staff to ensure that camp is a child’s most memorable experience.
When not in the classroom or at camp, I like to spend time with my wife and cat. We love to travel around the US. I try to visit my family in Ohio whenever I can. Sorry, but I am Cleveland sports team fan, go BROWNS! My hobbies are stargazing, solving crossword puzzles, and arts and crafts! I really enjoy having all sorts of fun, especially when I have someone to have it with.
Camp is going to be awesome; I cannot wait!
See you soon.
