With a maximum 8 to 1 camper to staff ratio, you can be confident that your child is fully supervised by a team of qualified professionals. We pride ourselves on hiring an all-adult staff, each of whom has a strong passion for working with children in a camp environment. It is the goal of our camp staff to make each and every camper feel welcome, safe and successful.
The hiring process for all staff includes two to three rounds of interviews, three reference checks, federal, state and local background checks and a staff orientation. Our staff members are CPR and First-Aid certified as well. You can be sure that your child’s director and counselors will be enthusiastic, creative, responsible and fun!
If your child has special needs or will require extra assistance while at camp, please contact us before you enroll to discuss!
At Camp Hackberry, your child will experience an array of exciting activities including, but not limited to, Arts & Crafts, Fun with Foods, Team Building, Group Games, Super Science Projects, Special Events, Yoga and/or Martial Arts. In addition, the club pros will provide campers with recreational golf and tennis instruction twice a week. Campers will have approximately 1.5 hours of recreational swimming daily, with the exception of Mondays when water games will take place. The best part is that no two days at camp are exactly alike!
Weekly Theme Days
And let’s not forget about Wacky Wednesdays! Every Wednesday at camp is a wacky one as we road trip across the USA to themes like On Broadway and Outer Space. Click here to check out this summer’s Wacky Wednesday calendar!
We are excited to announce the return of Thankful Thursdays into our camp program! In true camp spirit, every Thursday campers will have the chance to give back to their community by working together on a simple, fun and rewarding community service project. Lunch and Snacks
A kid-friendly lunch will be provided by the club daily. If you prefer to pack your own lunch for your child, please do so in a cooler or backpack.
A snack will be served each afternoon to all campers. We encourage you to pack some extra snacks for your child as well.
Please note that we are a “nut aware” camp. We ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts. Likewise, the lunches and snacks served by the club will not contain any nuts. If your child has a food allergy and you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
What to Wear and Pack
KECamps requires all campers to wear our official camp shirt each day of the week. Additional shirts may be purchased at camp. Campers should dress in comfortable clothes and tennis shoes.
Please do not wear flip-flops, sneakers with wheels or sandals. Children should pack a labeled swimsuit, towel, spray sunscreen and water bottle each day. You may also send your child with a labeled tennis racquet and/or golf clubs. Extra equipment will be available at camp if your child does not bring these items. On the first day of camp, your director will provide you with a schedule for golf and tennis so that you can pack accordingly. Please leave all electronic devices and cell phones at home. Having a bag or backpack to hold everything is a must!
If you know that your child will be classified as a Bogey (our term for Non-Swimmer) this summer or you prefer your child to be classified this way, please pack a flotation vest for use in the Shallow End of the pool.
